SimCity was a city-building video game by Maxis. It was first released on February 2, 1989.
An enhanced version, co-developed by Nintendo Entertainment Analysis and Development, was released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System on April 26, 1991.
It was released as free and open-source software under the working title of Micropolis on January 14, 2008.
