Metal Gear is a J2ME game for feature phones. It was a remake of the first game in the Metal Gear series, the 1987 MSX2 action-adventure stealth video game of the same name. It was released in Japan in 2004 and in North America in 2008. It formed the basis of the 2005 console remake.
