Sega CS1 was a development division within Sega that was founded on May 1, 2008. It consisted of staff from New Entertainment Research & Development.

The development team became Ryū ga Gotoku Studio, named after the popular Ryū ga Gotoku (Like a Dragon) series, on August 31, 2011.
