Sega Amusement Machine Research & Development Department #2 (Sega AM2) was a development division of
Sega that was founded in 1990. It consisted of staff from
Sega Research & Development #8.
In June 1998 some staff at Sega AM2 were reassigned to
Sega AM11.
On May 11, 1999, after the amusement and consumer divisions of Sega were merged, Sega AM2 was renamed Sega Software R&D Department #2.
