The Legend of Zelda was an action-adventure game that was originally released on the Famicom Disk System in 1986. It was released internationally on cartridge for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1987. The International cartridge version was released in Japan on Famicom in 1994 as The Legend of Zelda 1 (ゼルダの伝説1, Zeruda no Densetsu 1).
