Wadjet Eye Games was founded in 2006 when Dave Gilbert took his entry into an Adventure Game Studio contest, The Shivah, extended it with full voice acting and extras, and sold it as a commercial product.
The company originally was comprised of Dave Gilbert and his wife Janet Gilbert, but in 2014 they promoted Francisco Gonzalez, of Grundislav Games, and Ben Chandler from freelance to full-time employees. In 2017, Francisco Gonzalez left the company.
They have also published several games, offering design and art assistance to those projects.
