Wow. Here's something that I never, ever thought I'd post about. When I posted about the Destructoid article about LucasArts resurrecting a classic franchise, I never posted about their claims of Monkey Island or Grim Fandango being talked about by their source as an example of a "classic franchise", since I thought there was no chance of these games ever getting revisited.Well now, it turns out that the classic franchise may indeed be Monkey Island: the original The Secret of Monkey Island in fact. First Eurogamer posted news about the official German ratings board USK, posting a rating for "The Secret of Monkey Island Special Edition" for the Xbox 360.
Now Adventure Gamers has posted that their sources have revealed that the SOMI special edition is indeed coming, and that it will be on the Xbox Live Arcade rather than a retail release.
No one knows what changes this special edition will have, but if this does come to pass, even in a completely unchanged form, I'll be one very pleased gamer girl! :)
