Bone: The Great Cow Race |
Telltale had announced Bone 3 in 2006, consisting of an adaptation of the third ''Bone'' comic, and part or possibly all of the second. However, this is the last of the Bone games by Telltale.
In 2009, it was revealed that Telltale no longer held the rights to make video games based on the Bone license.
There were several reasons stated why Telltale never developed a Bone 3. They weren't able to reach their target audience of children as well as hoped. Also, Telltale only began the episodic gaming concept with the Bone games, and adjusted to releasing games in seasons, as in episodic television series, in their other episodic releases. Telltale learned in the process that the six month period between releases with the two Bone games was too long to keep an audience interested in the series. The approximately one month time between releases was deemed to work best for Telltale, and the Bone games didn't fit into the concept of seasons.
The retail version of Bone: The Great Cow Race is out of print, but it can still be purchased digitally online through Steam.
