2014 marks the 20th anniversary of the release of the classic point-and-click adventure game Inherit the Earth: Quest for the Orb. The Wormkeep Entertainment Company is developing a sequel to the game named Inherit the Earth: Sand and Shadows.
There is a Kickstarter for the sequel, which will once again be set in the world of humanoid anthropomorphic animals and will follow Rif the fox as he tries to confirm the rumors that an important relic of the legendary humans has survived, discovers who is responsible for the relic's recovery, and deals with the sinister forces behind the rumors that endanger Rif, his friends, and his society.
You can watch a video demo of the game at the game's website and back the game at the back the game at the Inherit the Earth: Sand and Shadows Kickstarter.

Inherit the Earth 2 Kickstarter Launched
Update: The kickstarter has already been cancelled. Wyrmkeep plans to prepare a better game description, and offer up more art and information about what the game is about to appeal better to non-fans when they try the Inherit the Earth 2 kickstarter pledge again.
Another year, another classic adventure game developer returns on Kickstarter. This time it's Inherit the Earth 2, a project created by Wyrmkeep Entertainment, a company formed by nine former members of the original developer The Dreamers Guild.
The game design has already been completed (except for a couple of puzzles which will be co-created by backers at the $600 "Puzzle Master" level). The team hopes to bring back some of the voice actors from the previous game, but nothing is set in stone.
Like most of the other adventure game kickstarters, there are multiple tiers to choose from, such as signed physical copies of the game and soundtrack at $60 and up, a free digital copy of the art book at $75 and up, invitation to a backer dinner (and your name in the end credits) at $100 and up. There are many more tiers than that (up to a $5,000 tier which includes an invitation to the launch party (plus accommodations excluding travel), so choose a tier and pledge your support to the first adventure game kickstarter of the new year.

Simon the Sorcerer Enhanced Soundtrack 2.1

The Simon the Sorcerer Enhanced Soundtrack has been updated. The second song (track02.ogg) had a single note that was out of place, which has now been fixed in this latest release. As with all of his enhanced soundtracks, this is playable with the original game using ScummVM.
Along with Simon the Sorcerer, he also released ScummVM compatible music for the games Simon the Sorcerer, Discworld and Inherit the Earth.

ScummVM Supports BASS Enhanced Soundtrack

Beneath a Steel Sky is available for free from the daily builds of the point and click adventure game interpreter, ScummVM.
James Woodcock also released ScummVM compatible music for the games Simon the Sorcerer, Discworld and Inherit the Earth. You'll need to own these games in order to play these enhanced soundtracks, because, unlike Beneath a Steel Sky, they aren't freeware.
