Far Studio and Transolar Games are the names of the studios owned by Lori Ann Cole and Corey Cole, the creators of the Quest for Glory series.  Far Productions was founded in 1995, after the Coles left Sierra, in order to develop the adventure game Shannara.  Far Studio is now used by the Coles for art and web development.

Transolar Games was started in 1999 to create new games by The Coles.  In 2008, they started a website called School of Heroes where visitors could become students and complete assignments through e-mail in order to become a hero.  In 2011, the School of Heroes website was closed so the idea could be expanded into a full game.  That game became Hero-U, which was successfully crowdfunded through Kickstarter in 2012 and was released on July 9, 2018.
