Digital Eclipse was founded in 1992 by Andrew Ayre. It closed in 2015. On June 8, 2015, Other Ocean Interactive acquired the "Digital Eclipse" brand and reopened the Emeryville studio as part of its Other Ocean Emeryville studio. Atari acquired Digital Eclipse in November 2023.
