GOG.com Insomnia Sale

GOG.com is having a very interesting sale. They have 101 games on sale for up to 80% off, but there are limited quantities available for each game, and when all the quantities available are sold, the next game is offered.

It's a very unusual sale, and quite clever, plus there have been a few adventure games available, so I thought I'd mention it here.  Right now, Jack Keane 2 is on sale for 60% off, but at the time of this writing there are only 24 left, so it'll go quick before the next deal is up.

Kickstarter for Obduction, from the creators of Myst

Another kickstarter from an adventure game veteran is ending soon. Obduction is an adventure game from Cyan, the creators of Myst and Riven. Like those games, Obduction is a first person adventure game that puts you in a new world with many areas to explore, and many puzzles to solve.

The kickstarter campaign is seeking 1.1 million dollars, however it is nearly there, with less than $200,000 to go, and only 5 days left. The tier to get a digital version of the game for Windows or Mac is $25, the $45 tier will get you a digital strategy guide, a digital copy of the soundtrack, and a digital artbook, and the $75 tier will get you a boxed special edition of the game plus your name as a "Box Backer" in the credits. As usual, there are many other tiers to choose from, so pick your tier, and support Cyan at the Obduction Kickstarter.

Kickstarter For The 7th Guest 3: The Collector

Yet another adventure game veteran has created a kickstarter campaign to seek crowd funding to a sequel to a classic franchise. The 7th Guest 3: The Collector is a campaign, by the original developer Trilobyte Games, for a third game in the full-motion video horror adventure series that previously brought us The 7th Guest and The 11th Hour.

The kickstarter campaign is seeking $435,000 US, and is currently an eighth of the way there with 27 days left to go.  Like its predecessors, The 7th Guest 3 will be presented in a full motion video format, and will once again feature the mysterious Stauf mansion which will be filled with diabolical toys, puzzles, and artifacts.

A digital version of the game for Windows, Mac, or Linux is available at the $20 tier, an additional download for iOS is available at the $25 tier, in-game credits are available at the $30 tier, a digital version of the soundtrack is available at the $40 tier, and a special edition boxed DVD version is available at the $100 tier.  There are many other tiers to choose from, so if you enjoy this type of game, or just like showing your support for adventure game veterans, show your support and pick a tier at the The 7th Guest 3: The Collector Kickstarter.

Broken Sword 5 Gets Release Dates for Its Two Parts

Revolution has posted news that Broken Sword: The Serpent's Curse, the fifth game in the series, which was successfully crowd funded through Kickstarter last year, now has release dates.

The game will be released in two parts, with the first part seeing a release for Windows, Mac, and Linux on December 4, 2013.  The PlayStation Vita version is scheduled to be released later that month.  The concluding episode will release in January 2014. Lilly Looking Through Is Out Now

Another successful kickstarter delivers with the fantastically artistic adventures of a little girl named Lilly, in Lilly Looking Through. It is available now from developer Geeta Games for $9.99 for the regular version or $19.99 for a deluxe version, which also includes a Steam key and a PDF of artwork from the game.
